23. What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol), a standard
Internet protocol, is the simplest way to exchange files between
computers on the Internet. FTP is commonly used to transfer Web
page files from their creator to the computer that acts as their
server for everyone on the Internet.
24. How do I update my Web
pages?
You can literally create and maintain your web
pages, images, and scripts locally and upload them to the web
server at your convenience via FTP. You can overwrite existing
files or transfer new files. If You Use Microsoft FrontPage, you
do not need to use FTP as the program has an FTP client built into
it.
25. Will I have unlimited
access to update my Web pages?
Yes, There is no limit to the number of times
you can update your site.
26. What are CGI
scripts?
A script is a program or sequence of
instructions that is interpreted or carried out by another program
rather than by the computer processor. CGI (Common Gateway
Interface) is a standard for interfacing external applications
with information servers, such as HTTP or Web servers. A plain
HTML document is static, which means it exists in a constant
state: a text file that doesn't change. A CGI program, on the
other hand, is executed in real-time, so that it can output
dynamic information. Common CGI features are "hit"
counters, redirection and on-the-fly generation of Web pages,
database queries, guest books or feed back forms. CGI is a
consistent way for data to be passed from the user's request to
the application program and back to the user. See www.cgi-resources.com
for many useful ideas.

27.What is SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol design by Netscape
Communications to enable encrypted, authenticated communications
across the Internet. SSL is used mostly (but not exclusively) in
communication between web browsers and web servers. Url's that
begin with "https" indicate that an SSL connection
will be used. SSL provides three important things: privacy,
authentication, and message integrity. In an SSL connection, the
session between the person browsing and the server (where your
web page is) is secured so that the information you enter can
not be intercepted by third parties.
28. Can I establish SSL on my web site?
Yes, contingent upon the hosting package you choose. This
protocol can be very useful for clients who intend on sending
sensitive information (e.g. personal information or credit card
information) through their web site.
29. Do I need my own Secure Certificate to
have SSL?
No, but we recommend you purchase your certificate otherwise
any pages that you want secured would show an address such as
https://secure.elehost.com/YOURPAGE. If you purchase your own
certificate from GEOTRUST (the provider we resell), then you have control over the
name that displays.
30. What databases do you currently
support?
We support ODBC, DSN, and Access compliant
databases.

31. What is an Autoresponder?
An Autoresponder will automatically reply to any e-mail sent
to a particular address. For example, you may have an
autoresponder for the address of sales@yourname.com. Any e-mail
sent to this address will automatically be replied to by a
robot. The robot will send back a preset message. Among other
things, this is useful for creating "request more
information" e-mail addresses.
32. What are your referral/reseller
programs?
We have several methods available whereby you can profit from
selling or recommending our plans. Our referral
program is our for our customers who wish to recommend us to
their friends and there are no special requirements; any
current customer whose account is in good standing can
participate in the program. The reseller
program is designed for web designers who want to provide a
total web presence solution for their customers.
